The Silent Heroes Awards is an annual ceremony organised by the Hillview Civilians Club. The aim of the awards is to recognise ordinary, everyday Singaporeans and permanent residents for their extraordinary humanity and compassion towards people, causes, and missions. The award is open nation-wide and is presented specifically to individuals and organisations who are working silently without recognition or compensation. These are the faceless champions of our society — ordinary means who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to improving the lives of their fellow human beings

The awards were first launched in 2014. Since then, the awards ceremony has traditionally been hosted at the Shangri-La Hotel, in the last week of August. The guest-of-honour at the inaugural awards ceremony in 2014 was Ms Indranee Rajah, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Finance & Ministry of Law.

In 2015, the awards ceremony was held at the Island Ballroom of Shangri-La Hotel in Aug. The guest of honour who presented the awards to winners was Mr.Zainul Abidin Rasheed, former senior minister of state. Each category has a set of criteria that candidates are required to have fulfilled. The awards are open to both individuals, and also to organisations across multiple categories.
