Siddharth Pisharody is a volunteer at Singapore International Foundation (SIF) who strongly believes in empowering youths and giving back to the community through skills-based volunteerism. Since 2014, Mr Pisharody has been volunteering as a mentor for social enterprises in SIF, Young Social Entrepreneurs (YSE) Global Programme that inspires, equips and enables youth of different nationalities to start their own social enterprises in Singapore and beyond.

Mr Pisharody has an extensive background in mentoring. His previous experience working as the Director in Temasek International’s Investments group and as a management consultant in Mckinsey’s Singapore office prompted him to spearhead a partnership between his professional career and his desires for mentorship.

The mentorship programme features a customized pairing of one social enterprise with two volunteer mentors who can be business consultants or entrepreneurs. These mentors provide relevant expertise, and networking opportunities to the teams and offer practical aspects and challenges of starting up their own enterprises.

Mr Pisharody continually contributes valuable insights to help improve this YSE programme. His innate desire and belief in mentorship have encouraged corporate-public partnership through social entrepreneurship. Mr Pisharody’s commitment to this programme for the past seven years has shown young changemakers how social enterprises can solve problem statements easily.

Mr Pisharody’s active role in encouraging corporate-public partnership has inspired the youth to understand more cohesively about the issues they may face in starting or growing a social enterprise. His active role and unwavering contributions in building the capabilities of young social entrepreneurs across a diverse range of sectors both locally and regionally. Mr Pisharody’s expertise and knowledge has helped positively impact different communities for the greater social good.

Mr Siddarth Pisharody was nominated for the “Compassionate Foreigner” Category for the SSH Awards 2021. He was the selected winner and received award from Guest of Honour: Mr. Lawrence Wong – Minister for Financeat Shangri-La Hotel on 28th August 2021.
